Mapping of youth organizations working in the field of Climate Change in Central Africa
Dans le cadre du lancement de la 3e édition du processus préparatoire de la Jeunesse Africaine aux conférences des Nations Unies sur les changements climatiques en vue d’une  participation efficace et efficiente des jeunes à la
(Conférence of Youth COY 9) et (Conférence des Parties COP 19)
Dans l’optique d’accroitre l’implication et la participation des jeunes au processus REDD+ en Afrique Centrale, L’Initiative de la Jeunesse Africaine sur les Changements Climatiques - (AYICC) lance un processus d’identification des organisations de jeunes engagées dans la protection de l’environnement, la lutte contre les Changements climatiques, et la promotion du développement durable en Afrique Centrale .
Les organisations inscrites sur la base de données pourront rejoindre la plate forme des organisations membres d’AYICC et ainsi  travailler en étroite collaboration avec nous. Elles bénéficieront d’information sur la suite du processus préparatoire.
 Les pays concernés par cet appel sont :
Le Cameroun, le Congo, le Gabon, la Republique CentrAfricaine , la République Democratique du Congo, la République de Guinée Equatoriale, le  Tchad, Sao tomé et Principe.

As part of the launch of the third edition of the preparatory process for the African Youth to UN conferences on climate change in an efficient and effective participation of youth in
(Conference of Youth COY 9) and (COP COP 19)
In order to increase the involvement and participation of young people in REDD + in Central Africa, the African Youth Initiative on Climate Change - (AYICC) launched a process to identify youth organizations involved in environmental protection, the fight against Climate Change, and the promotion of sustainable development in Central Africa.
Organizations on the database can reach the platform member organizations and AYICC and work closely with us. They receive information on the result of the preparatory process.
  The countries covered by this call are:
Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, CentralAfrica Republique, Democratique Republique of Congo, Guinée Equatoriale, Chad, Sao Tome and Principe.
This call is open from May 15, 2013

Process of involvement and participation of young people in the REDD+ MECHANISM
Yaounde-Cameroon
22-23 April 2013

Under the coordination of the Pan-African youth platform on climate change African Youth Initiative on Climate Change, the organization Young Volunteers for the Environment (JVE Cameroon), and associated partners will hold on 22 and 23 April 2013 in Yaoundé, Cameroon, training young people on REDD.
This training is part of the YOUTH program INSIDE THE REDD is a contribution to the celebration of the World Day of the earth and it is part of a process aimed at increasing the involvement of youth in REDD.
Part of preparing young people for the UN Conference on Climate Change COP 19 to be held in November in Poland, the training aims to equip participants, youth leaders and journalists on the mechanisms of action of youth on climate issues including the REDD
The training is scheduled for two days and will focus on:
  Ø workshop
  Ø conference

It will be hosted by expert imminent environmental issue but also by young researchers.

AFRICAN YOUTH PANEL CENTRAL AFRICAN SUMMIT





Under the post-2015 process will be held from 7 to 10 February 2013, at Djeuga Palace Hotel Yaounde-Cameroon the AFRICAN YOUTH PANEL CENTRAL AFRICAN REGIONAL SUMMIT.
The event which was held under the theme "The Post 2015 Agenda: How can Young
People be placed at the Heart of Regional Development "aims to develop an overview of different perspectives related to current debates on sustainable development and post-2015.
The conference is organized by the ASSOCIATION JEUNESSE ESPOIR DU CAMEROUN, AFRICAN YOUTH PANEL in collaboration with YOUNG VOLUNTEERS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT CAMEROON.
General


1.      All African countries who share common understanding/goals with AYP are eligible to have representation in the African Youth Panel. However, this application only applies to members in the Central African Region.
2.      Successful candidates shall be orientated at Regional meetings and inaugurated at the General Assembly. The Central African Regional Meeting Shall be held from the 08th -10th February, 2013.
3.      All members have access to the AYP Compendium which stipulates in detail the code of conduct and other membership procedures.

Candidate Specifications



In order to be considered for membership, the candidate must meet the following requirements;
· Be between 18 and 35 years old
· Must be from a country within the Central African Region and is active or has demonstrated interest in the key areas of AYP
·Have at least two years’ experience or otherwise have been engaged in promoting local, national or international development.
· Have knowledge about the challenges Africa is facing today and views about the future development of the continent
· Applications should be submitted in French or English. However, applications done in other languages should be translated before submission.

In order to process your application, we will require your Curriculum Vitae to accompany the Application Form to be filled in by the applicant on the next page.
